The basilisks are lizard-like creatures, mostly residing in the damp and swampy enviornments of the Zegzeg Islands. They have highly keen senses and are natural hunters. In addition, they are very skilled swimmers, allowing them to hunt both in water as well as on land. The colourful scales covering their bodies, combined with being fairly light-weight for their size, allows them to float silently and quickly, surprising their prey with swift movements.

They can grow up to 500 cm in length and 100 cm in height. They are often hunted by poachers for their prized scales.
